U Charge — EV Charging Installation Services
Last updated: July 2026

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

1. About Us
U Charge is an EV charging installation company based in Barnet, North London. We supply and install electric vehicle charging points for domestic and commercial customers across London and Hertfordshire.

2. Quotations and Surveys
Quotations are provided following a survey, which may be carried out remotely (based on photographs, video and written information supplied by the customer) at no charge, or by an in-person site survey for a fee of £75. The site survey fee is fully refunded against the cost of installation when the customer proceeds with an order, and is otherwise non-refundable.

Quotations are fixed based on the information provided to us at the time of survey and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. Quotations are no-obligation and the customer is not bound until work is accepted under Section 3.

If site conditions on the day of installation differ materially from the information provided or visible at survey — for example concealed cable routes, the condition of the consumer unit, or access restrictions not disclosed — U Charge will advise the customer of any required revision to the quotation before any additional work is carried out. The customer is under no obligation to proceed with revised work, and Section 7 (Cancellation) applies to any resulting cancellation.

3. Acceptance of Work
Work is accepted when the customer confirms in writing (including email) that they wish to proceed. By accepting a quote, the customer agrees to these Terms and Conditions.

4. Payment Terms

– A deposit of 50% is required before work commences
– The remaining balance is due on completion of installation
– Payment can be made by bank transfer or card
– Invoices are due within 7 days of issue
– Special order items — certain products may need to be ordered specifically for your installation. In these cases, full payment for the equipment may be required upfront before the order is placed. You will be advised of this at the time of quotation
– U Charge reserves the right to charge interest on late payments at 8% above the Bank of England base rate under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998

5. Ownership of Goods
All equipment and materials supplied by U Charge remain the property of U Charge until full payment has been received. U Charge reserves the right to recover any equipment installed where payment has not been made in full.

6. Non-Payment
In the event of non-payment:

– U Charge reserves the right to suspend or terminate services
– Outstanding balances may be passed to a debt recovery agency
– Legal action may be taken to recover unpaid amounts
– The customer will be liable for any costs incurred in recovering the debt including legal fees

7. Cancellation

– Customers may cancel within 14 days of accepting a quote without penalty
– Cancellations after 14 days may be subject to a cancellation fee to cover materials ordered and work scheduled
– If work has already commenced, the customer will be charged for work completed to date plus any materials ordered

8. Installation

– All installations are carried out by qualified and insured engineers
– The customer is responsible for ensuring safe and clear access to the installation site
– U Charge will take reasonable care to avoid damage to the property but cannot be held responsible for minor redecoration required after installation
– All work is carried out in accordance with current UK wiring regulations (BS 7671)

9. Warranty & Workmanship Guarantee

– U Charge provides a 12 month workmanship guarantee on all installations
– Manufacturer warranties apply to all equipment supplied and vary by product
– Warranty is void if equipment is tampered with or modified by a third party

10. Liability

– U Charge’s total liability in connection with any installation or service is limited to the value of the contract paid by the customer
– U Charge accepts no liability whatsoever for any indirect, consequential, special or incidental loss or damage including but not limited to loss of earnings, loss of business, loss of data, damage to property caused by equipment failure or third party products
– U Charge accepts no liability for any damage, loss or injury arising from the customer’s misuse of installed equipment or failure to follow manufacturer guidelines
– U Charge accepts no liability for any issues arising from the condition of the customer’s existing electrical installation or infrastructure
– U Charge accepts no responsibility for any work carried out by third parties before, during or after our installation
– In no circumstances shall U Charge’s liability exceed the total amount paid by the customer for the installation in question
– U Charge holds full public liability insurance but this does not extend our liability beyond the limits stated above
– Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law

10a. Customer Responsibilities — Electrical Inspection & Maintenance

– The customer is responsible for ensuring that their electrical distribution system, EV charging equipment and charging cables are maintained in a safe and serviceable condition at all times
– Charging cables should be regularly inspected by the customer for signs of wear, damage, fraying or exposed wiring. Damaged cables must not be used and should be replaced immediately
– U Charge strongly recommends that customers arrange periodic inspections of their electrical installation and charging equipment by a qualified electrician in accordance with current UK regulations
– An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) should be carried out at regular intervals as recommended by a qualified electrician
– U Charge accepts no liability for any loss, damage, injury or equipment failure arising from the customer’s failure to maintain, inspect or replace charging cables or periodically inspect their electrical installation or charging equipment
– Any issues identified during periodic inspections that relate to U Charge’s workmanship and fall within the 12 month workmanship guarantee period should be reported to U Charge immediately at info@ucharge.co.uk
